Good day!

Our 2022 Columbia Area YPD Educational Meeting will be held in-person on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. at Bethel A.M.E. Church at 819 Woodrow Street, Columbia S.C. 29205. 

Registration will begin at 9:30 A.M. 

Our Educational Committee Members are Sis. Anderson from Chappelle Memorial A.M.E.; Sis. Stokes-Clark from New Bethel A.M.E. Lexington; and Sis. Cleckley from Adams Northeast A.M.E. These ladies have worked really hard to put together a program that will engage and educate all our YPDers!

We will have Six Booths with Session Leaders. Please see the attached schedule for the Booths and Session Leaders.

We will have a session on “Human Trafficking Awareness” for our youth ages 13 and up. The session may contain content about drugs/sex awareness. This is not a sex education course. The idea behind this session is to bring awareness to our young people about the fast-growing Human Trafficking criminal industry preying on our youth, vulnerable individuals, etc.

We are asking that each Local Director have the parent or guardian of their youth to complete the attached Consent form. No youth will be allowed to attend without the completed Consent form. If they are unable to attend this session, we will have something else to keep them engaged.

In addition, individuals will be notified/asked to assist with the cleanup afterwards.

The following protocol regarding COVID 19 will be in place: temperature check and face mask are required.
